Shawna Gelow grew up in Ormond Beach, FL and attended Seabreeze High School and Daytona State College, where she received her Bachelor’s degree. She knew that she had a passion for helping people at a young age. After college she worked as a certified nursing assistant and home health aide until she started her family. For the majority of her career she worked for Zimmer Biomet as a cardiothoracic surgical device sales specialist. She helped surgeons and their staff learn the Sternalock system for closing the sternum after open heart surgeries. This system has proven outcomes for patients.

For several years Shawna received the assistance of Agency General Manager Joe de Cillis to assist her with the insurance needs of her family. She was able to see first hand how much an independent broker could help people find affordable coverage that met their needs and budget. She realized that by joining the Shawn E Brown Insurance team she could help change the lives of hundreds of individuals and families. In the summer of 2023 she decided to pursue this industry as a career, and as she turned the page this would become the next chapter in her life.
