Joe de Cillis

Joe de Cillis was born in Lakeland, FL and lived in Kerrville, TX for several years until his family settled in Port Orange, FL. He attended Spruce Creek High School and the University of Florida.  After University, Joe held management positions in several industries, from restaurants to retail to finance.  After his daughter had spent 9 months in the Neonatal Unit he had racked up over 3.5 million dollars in medical bills.  Having spent over a year dealing with the absurdly confusing health insurance landscape, he found that his passion was helping people navigate the system, so that they would not have to go through what he went through.  Long time friend Shawn Brown had started Shawn E Brown Insurance a couple of years prior, and Joe decided to join with Shawn to turn his passion into a career. Starting out with just the two of them working in a single office, over the years they grew the Agency to include six additional brokers, an office manager, and nine locations across Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina. Although the business has grown, Shawn and Joe still follow the same guiding principles: Transparency, honesty, and treating every client as if they were family. In his free time, Joe enjoys weight training, University of Florida sports, and coaching his son in baseball.
